John's Belongings
In John's cell, what might be most noticeable is the book lying on his bed. It seems to be a book about playing guitar, with several examples of notation and how it correspond to the position of your hands. A few pages have been bookmarked with slips of paper, and there are also several larger sheets of paper sandwiched in between.

Music Sheets
It's probably a good idea to play these myself as example first of all."]To Everyone
To everyone,
As the week passes, though I have no belief in our captor's promises or his ability to fulfil them, I've begun a-fearing that someone will try anyway. So I thought it best to leave some record in case the worse comes to pass. If you're the one a-reading this, Rideaux, all I ask is that you give these letters to the ones they are addressed to, or at least let them know they exist.
I believe in all of you. I believe you'll find a way out of this, without any more death.

To Oda
To Oda,
If you're a-reading this now, I must apologize that I've lost my chance to teach your son the guitar. But if it is still whole, I would like him to have it. I pray this book will be of some use to him as well.
Despite what you've told me of your profession, I feel you're truly a good man. And I believe you will make it through this.

To Leon
To Leon,
I ask that you continue your practice even if I am no longer here to guide you. I've found this book, though how well a substitute it can be I do not know. All I ask is that once you escape this place you pass on my guitar to Oda's son, who also has a wish to learn.
I suggest that you learn fast the Last Judgement song. It is a strong proof against evil, and moreso with silver strings to back it up.

To Cheryl
To Cheryl,
I do not wish to leave my Evadare behind, when I've barely recalled anything about her. If you meet her, may I ask that you be the one to tell her what happened? I also ask that you cherish your family, and give them all the love you can when you see them again, though I suppose that is more a formality.
-John
To Mozu
To Mozu,
I am sorry I could not teach you more about the songs and food of my home. I also regret that I'll never be able to visit yours as I promised. But I ask that you keep a-holding on to hope. If you meet my Evadare, I ask you show her the same courtesy you offered me.
If we ever had a daughter, I would be truly proud if she were to be like you.
-John
